Facebook Blamed for Divorces one-third across globe

Social network Facebook has been charged with one third of divorces in the world, according to a law firm.

The social network is increasingly seen as a source of evidence in divorce cases, the Daily Mail reported quoting divorce law firm-Online.
Facebook
The company said it has seen a 50 percent increase in the number of requests for divorce, "behavior-based" containing the word "Facebook" in the last two years.

At least 33 percent of the 5,000 petitions filed with the signing last year mentioned in the website.

"Facebook has become the primary method for communicating with friends for many people. Get in touch with the people ex-partners and the messages they start off as innocent, but cause problems. If someone wants to have an affair or flirting with the opposite sex, then it is the easiest place to do it, "said Mark Keenan, managing director of Divorce-Online.

The most common reasons for the problems caused by a spouse Facebook was looking flirty messages, photos of couples at a party or did not know anyone who should not have been with.

Anne-Marie Hutchinson, Dawson Cornwell lawyers, said: "If you are keeping things from your partner, Facebook makes it much easier for them to find out."

Keenan said he has warned customers to keep out of Facebook when going through the divorce process.

"People have to be careful what they put on Facebook that the courts are now seeing a lot more evidence that was presented at the walls of people and positions in disputes over finances and children," he said.
